A battle for three points

Kuala Terengganu: Make no mistake. Not one, definitely not zero. Both Turtles and The Titans are instead gunning for three full points in tonight's local Terengganu derby.

T-Team head coach Mohd Azraai Khor shares with Bola Pantai Timur," Every game is important. But we are aiming for a win tonight."  Seeing a different T-Team from the one  his team used to meet in trial and friendly matches, his Terengganu counterpart, Abdul Rahman Ibrahim notes," It is all about three points tonight. Terengganu have to be sharp and disciplined."

T-Team are still grappling with the absence of natural flankers. Azraai says, "On that score, we are still at the same level as we started - poor service to the strikers." Besides, influential import midfielder Nelson San Martin is still carrying a hamstring injury. On the other hand, Terengganu will have more choices in midfield with the return of Ismail Faruqi and the expected debut by Mario Karlovic.

Former Turtles coach E Ellavarasan picks Terengganu to win.

He says," Terengganu will have the upper hand. They will bounce back from the recent defeat to Perak if changes are made to the line-up." However he warns ," If T-Team is consistent (following the recent landmark win over JDT), they will gain real respect."

A Terengganu official quips, "We respect all teams. However our objective of getting three points remains."

That does not mean T-Team will take the challenge lying down. Would they continue to utilize President Cup players in important games? Azraai says," Yes. The priority is for the senior (Super League) team." Against JDT, T-Team deployed President Cupper Muhd Syuhiran on the left back and he performed creditably well.
