Kuala Terengganu: The President Cup competition for this season is about to begin. Missing from action for Kelantan will be Mohd Faiz aka Messi, who was with them last year. Now playing for PBAPP, the player who dons jersey number 10, weighing 45 kg and is 1.55 m in height, caught the attention of many during PBAPP's pre-season matches.

Speaking to Bola Pantai Timur, Faiz, 22, says,"I played for the Kelantan President Cup team for one year. But Kelantan did not call me for the senior squad." Former coach Mohd Sideek Samsudin says former Kelantan head coach Bojan Hodak thought Faiz was good but his small size was seen to be a disdvantage.
PBAPP head coach, Yunus Alif, disagrees.
He tells Bola Pantai Timur, "He came to us during selection. Messi has a big heart. He can do wonders in the penalty box. It is to our advantage when defenders give him a hard tackle." Yunus sees similarities between Faiz and Terengganu's Ismail Faruqi, when he was a young up and coming player.
Faiz, who considers the real legendary Messi and Kelantan captain Piya as role models, says," I want to go far and play for the country." Having faith in his former player, Sideek says, " He can go far because he is really good. He is a disciplined player who can follow training with no problem."
ATM's Hai-O who saw Faiz during PBAPP's friendly match against ATM notes, " He is talented and agile but he is too small. There is still room to strengthen his physical side."
