Turtles good enough for top six - head coach

Kuala Terengganu: Terengganu head coach Hj Abdul Rahman Ibrahim is modest and realistic about his team's chances in this year's edition of Malaysian Super League.

In an exclusive conversation with Bola Pantai Timur here, he says, " I believe we should be among the top six. If we are lucky, may be we can get a better spot within that bracket. But the most important thing is for us to focus on our work." It is a realistic target since Terengganu stood at the ninth position last season.

Abdul Rahman: Best players for each game

Other observers however are more gung-ho.

Says a football observer," It definitely looks like the team will fare better than number nine spot. If the foreign players can contribute significantly, then it will have a good chance of winning at least a trophy." Last year Turtles lost many good players and they were not compensated with the same quality or experienced replacements.

The observer notes that the signing of some good players this season will strengthen Terengganu. Earlier Abdul Rahman  himself admitted that they have greater depth for this year's challenge. He says," Whenever players are injured or suspended, we can still proceed uninterrupted. We shall also play to win matches one game at a time."

In that respect, he stresses, " Depending on who our opponents are, we shall field the best available players for the particular game."
