Back to the drawing board for Turtles

Kuala Terengganu: It is an earlier exit in the FA Cup second round for Terengganu this season. Last year they almost made it to the final, losing to eventual champions Kelantan in an epic and controversial battle at home in the second leg of the semi-final.

Last night away in Paroi they lost 1-2 to club side PKNS, former head coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim's team, which they had beaten 2-1 in their first Super League match.

Although Terengganu had the advantage of an extra man for 35 minutes in the second half after the sending off of a PKNS player, they failed to capitalize on it. PKNS which then worked on the tactical aspect by switching from 4-4-2 to 4-4-1 managed to hold sway. Their defence was on form to deny Terengganu's attempts for more goals.

"PKNS just worked and played as a team. We managed to get the winning goal when our player seized on the opportunity to score," PKNS head coach Wan Jamak Wan Hassan tells Bola Pantai Timur. He adds," Anything can happen in football."

Patrick Wleh put PKNS a goal in front from a volley in the 37th minute before Turtles captain Ismail Faruqi replied in the 49th minute. Karlo Primorac gave PKNS the winning goal in the 80th minute.
