Surprises, luck and merit

Kuala Terengganu: After four Super League games, Selangor tops the chart followed by ATM and Terengganu. All the three teams are already out of the FA Cup. Three east coast teams - Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang -  are in the top six.

TRW head coach Steve Darby who has been criticized by some fans lately shares with BolaPantai Timur, "At the moment, the League is throwing up many surprise results and one result can change you many places." He adds that the team's biggest concern is  conceding five of their six goals from set pieces. Steve stresses, "We practise daily both on attacking and defending set pieces." Last Saturday, Kelantan lost 1-2 away to Perak in Ipoh.

"Many surprise results"

Meanwhile ATM head coach B Sathianathan whose team drew with T-Team here in their last game tells Bola Pantai Timur, "We are lucky to be in the second spot but I believe we deserve it looking at our overall performance in four games." He contends that ATM were unlucky against both T-Team and PKNS - believeing that ATM were the better team and should be at 12 points now. Still, Sathia is quite happy with the present second spot.
"ATM deserve second spot"

ATM have scored more goal than Terengganu, which drew 0-0 with LionsXII on Saturday. A Turtles official says, "What is important is to get an away point but we must win at home."

The points collected by all twelve teams thus far do not differ much. Selangor at the very top have collected nine points versus three points for Sime Dary, the current basement team. Five teams occupying the number four to number eight spots are sharing six points, namely Sarawak, Kelantan, Pahang, PKNS and  Perak. These teams are separated by goal differences and number of goals for and against.

The top four teams have positive goal differences. Selangor have scored the most goals (6) while Sime Darby have conceded the biggest goals so far (7).
