2. BPT used to read how after one of its elections, to some at least, FAM elections were considered ala-Mafia and noted the respondents who described it were amusingly quite "happy" with the description.
3. What if BPT were one of the delegates who would cast the all important votes in today's Congress-cum-elections?
4. BPT would certainly use all the criteria used in the poll and check the respective candidate's merits and demerits accordingly. These are: integrity, leadership by example, consistency, don't do to others what you don't like others to do to you, football exposure and track record, ability to represent the country internationally/ in the eyes of the world and football vision. Hey, no play-play! Mostly they come straight from a leadership module which BPT used to attend at a Master's level.
5. BPT would choose the best from available candidates or the less risky one from the leadership points of view. Otherwise, how do you expect the number one leader to propel Malaysian football forward?
6. Remember winnable candidates in GE13 (PRU13)? Oh yes, by D-Day today, BPT would have done a thorough background search - the equivalents of SPRM, police and medical reports. Both positive and negative track records - new and old, if any- in football, other sports and outside sports matter. Can delegates simply overlook certain controversial thing(s) he did in football? Can delegates really say I don't care what he does outside football?
7. Soon we are going to have another World Cup. The "new" FAM should be one which is ably led and governed in accordance with a clear vision and internationally-accepted standards and practices in all relevant spheres.
8. For all the posts, may the best candidates be elected to take FAM and Malaysian football to the next level.
