Kuantan: Record rainfall and severe flood have not adversely affected Malaysia Cup champion, Pahang, a team official tells Bola Pantai Timur.
" Flood hit certain players' houses. Otherwise our preparation has not been affected," he says, adding that the team has started training for one week.
As part of its pre-season preparations, Pahang is flying to Hong Kong
on 2 January for two friendly matches there. It is also arranging for
local friendlies - possibly against Police, Selangor and Terengganu.
Pahang has appointed Ronald Smith to replace Dollah Salleh as its Head Coach. Dollah left for Police as its Head Coach-cum-Manager for the new season. Besides, Zainal Abidin Hassan is the Assistant Head Coach.
Last season's import players Jamaican Damion Stewart and Argentinian Matias Conti are staying put while two new players, Pakistani defender Zesh Rehman and former Kelantan striker, Nigerian Dickson Nwakaeme complete the team's import quota.
