International friendlies - Indonesia for Turtles, Thailand for Titans

Kuala Terengganu: Indonesia-bound Terengganu Super League squad will depart tomorrow while another Terengganu-based team, T-Team or Titans heads for Thailand at midnight.

Terengganu head coach Hj Abdul Rahman Ibrahim tells Bola Pantai Timur, "The four matches against Indonesian Super League clubs in Bandung and Surabaya are meant for the team's international exposure." He adds it will also enhance the team's overall compatibility, especially among local and import players.

Hj Abdul Rahman: International exposure
For the record, Terengganu only participated for one season in the AFC Cup (2012), organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

After its recent outing in Klang Valley against PKNS and ATM, T-Team will have its two international friendlies against Songkhla United FC and Chonburi FC.

Songkhla United competes in Thai football top division, Thai Premier League (TPL). Formerly known as Buriram FC, it won the second tier Thailand Division 1 in 2011 and was promoted to TPL.

Chonburi which ranks third in TPL (2013) is ranked 16th among Asian clubs as of 29 October 2013. It made two and three appearances respectively in AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.

Friendly matches have their own risks.

A few T-Team players are nursing injuries following the game against ATM. A number of Terengganu players too have not fully recovered from their injuries.
