He says, " We wanted to see how the local players fared. Since coach Steve Darby left Malaysia in 2008, he needs to update and familiarize himself with them. This will enable him to look at their positioning, fitness level, ideas and capabilities as well as formulate team strategy accordingly. What is important for the team is to get ready and be able to perform well."

Azman also says that three players, namely Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria, Zairul Fitree Ishak and Nik Shahrul Azim have been grappling with injuries.Besides, he adds that during the friendly matches, Penang fielded its full team whilst Perak used six imports in the second half.

After the match against Terengganu, he adds that Kelantan will focus on fitness level. Another friendly against Sime Darby is scheduled on 27 December.

In a related development, he also informs Bola Pantai Timur, " We have to pull out from Piala Lagenda which will start on 21 December. The team is still at a preliminary stage of training. It is not ready for competitive matches. If we were to compete, fans' expectations will be high. This in turn will put pressure on the players and affect our preparations. " It is organised by PKNS FC in conjunction with PKNS's 50th anniversary.
