Wanted: CEO/Gen-Sec for Malaysian footballers' association

Kuala Terengganu: Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) is looking for a CEO/Gen-Sec to spearhead this professional outfit.

In an exclusive conversation with Bola Pantai Timur here, PFAM president, Hairuddin Omar aka Hai-O says," Through contacts, we are looking for a full-time CEO/Gen-Sec and a few support staff. It is very important because all our EXCO members are busy professional footballers." Hai-O, who was elected as the new President in June last year, adds that PFAM is also looking for a suitable premise, at a site close to both Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) offices.
Hai-O: Refresh, reactivate PFAM
"Our main priority now is to refresh and reactivate the organisation as it was previously run by former players who are no longer active. We also want to accelerate our recruitment drive for new members," he stresses. The total membership at present stands at 260 people. It is open to all professional players in the Super and Premier Leagues.

The PFAM president says the professional outfit is a platform to help players with regard to contract, welfare etc. Hai-O adds PFAM is recognised by the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO), an international non-profit organisation and the world governing body of corporate football. Headquartered in Montreal, among others, FIFCO seeks to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, team spirit and team building as well as networking opportunities.

Rezal Zambery Yahya is PFAM's deputy president. EXCO members include Shukor Adan, Aidil Zafuan, Safee Sali and K Gunalan.
