Maiden win as planned - Turtles manager

Terengganu manager-cum-vice president 2, Marzuki Sulong says his team's maiden 2-0 win in the Malaysian Super League game over Selangor this season was as planned.

2. In an immediate comment to BolaPantaiTimur after last night's home match at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah stadium, he says, " Alhamdulillah, we succeeded as planned."  Ismail Faruqi and Gustavo Lopez made two high-quality strikes for the Terengganu goals.

3. Terengganu is due to play Sarawak away next. Last night Sarawak held Felda United to a 3-3 draw. Marzuki says, "It will be our first mission to find points away. Allah willing, we will do our best."

4. Echoing Marzuki, Datuk Rozi Mamat, Terengganu Youth, Sports and Human Resources Committee Chairman, says, "Terengganu have made a good start. I hope we will be able to keep up a better performance."

5. On T-Team's 0-2 Premier League defeat to PKNS the night before, Rozi says even though they put up a gallant performance, their relative inexperience might have separated the two teams. He adds, " We have done a big overhaul by lining up 70% Terengganu youths only. It is my target to make T-Team as the feeder to Terengganu. We are giving them the necessary exposure."  

6. Rozi also says he has asked coach Tomislav Steinbruckner to look for another defensive midfielder for the next transfer window and pay attention to the forward department as well. Players' lack of endurance against PKNS were also felt, especially in the second half.   

7. Fellow East Coast team, Kelantan, also started well with a 2-0 away win against ATM.
