Kuala Terengganu: After edging Singapore 1-0 in the first leg of the quarter final of Proton Kings' Gold Cup at home on Saturday, Terengganu now expects an even tougher encounter in Singapore on 23 November.
Terengganu only managed to get the winning goal in injury time.
Its coach, Mustafa Kamal Wahab told BolaPantaiTimur, " Alhamdulillah I am proud of my players. They followed our instructions and never gave up until the final whistle." He added, "Singapore played rather defensively but I expect them to be firing on all cylinders in the second leg."
During the match, Terengganu was awarded a penalty but it was saved by the Singapore goalkeeper. Worse, its influential captain was red-carded after receiving a second yellow card in the dying minutes of injury time. He will miss the return match.
